St.Regis Hotel Winter Garden Market

St.Regis Hotel Winter Garden Market

Our visit to the St.Regis Winter Garden Market was short but fun.First of all I didn’t know there was actually a Christmas event going on over there but later found out by a family friend. As it was about to end (the next day 31st of December )didn’t wanted to miss it,so paid a visit the same evening.Set on the beautiful St.Regis hotel,on Shiekh Zayed Road this market is surely to be visited for a different experience. Its not very big though and (wouldn’t take much of your time) but rather the trip is short and fun.Princess Z and I surely enjoyed our time there .

Moving over,They had 2 separate outdoor zones. The market stall placed on the left and the kids entertainment zone on the right. We didn’t pay a visit to the food stall area as we weren’t hungry but directly when to the kids zone.Where they had quite a few entertainment for kids. From the choo choo mini-train,to the Carousel ride,a snow globe,A FREE snow fight zone, a small snack stall(selling popcorn and candy floss),gingerbread decorating area, coloring zone as well as a visit to Santa ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป who was sitting and welcoming kids in his little Grotto for a FREE picture.Tickets were to be bought from the cashier desk ,each ride and snack costing you 10 Dhs.The great thing about all the rides was that they were quite long (around 10mins each)Princess Z did each of every thing except for the carousel,(she loved it and went on it twice). We couldn’t go for the snow globe as it was out of order ๐Ÿ˜ž(Maybe next time).Anyway the total cost of our entertainment was 40Dhs (quite reasonable isn’t ย it).

We enjoyed our time plus our short trip andย evening and can’t wait for it to happen next year again.

Madinat Jumeirah Christmas Market

Madinat Jumeirah Christmas Market

Another Christmas event, The Christmas Market at Madinat Jumeirah is a must visit. An event that happens every year,Its a place where not only the kids but adults can surely enjoy and have fun.Heres our experience

We decided to go there on a weekday avoiding crowds.Arriving at around 4:30 we were all excited but the traffic around Madinat Jumeirah is bizarre.and it’s really hard to find parking inside so it took us almost half and hour ๐Ÿ˜–โ˜น๏ธto get inside.Anyway it was almost 5:00 when we reached.Seeing all the Christmas decoration and the Giant Christmas Tree Princess Z got really excited and couldn’t wait to experience at the attractions.

So much of hard work put into this Christmas tree

The first thing I did was buy the tickets.(it’s exchanging cash for money tokens, using them as per the required price ).It usually gets crowded but the good thing about this year is that they made it a lot better by having several tickets counters around rather then just 1.After getting our tickets we lined up in the queue for the mini-train ride.As it was not crowded Princess Z turn came in fast. ๐Ÿ˜

Note:The price for the mini-train ride ๐Ÿš‚is 15 Dhs (token money)per ride for 4 rounds

Next, was the snow park area,we had to go across for it via the link bridge.(another new feature this year)The queue here was very long.Princess Z is very impatient and doesn’t like standing in the line so she and her aunt went to grab some snacks while I waited in the line for her.Her turn to play came in after 25mins in waiting.Once she was in playing with the snow โ„๏ธโ˜ƒ๏ธI clicked some pictures waved and watched her from the outside.Every child is allowed only to play for 15mins so the time got over very fast and as I was hungry we went to grab a snack at one of the stalls.I don’t remember the name though but they had great eatables to offer. As being a fan of potatoes Princess Z and I had French fries for the time being.๐ŸŸ.

Note:The snow park area costed us 25Dhs (token money)and a plate of French fries 25Dhs (cash)as well.

Busy playing

Then while eating we when for the gingerbread man decoration. The stall was a bit far from all the other attractions(had to take another link bridge).Once on the stall we went for 2 cookies, one gingerbread man and a Christmas tree.Handing them out on a plate with white pipping, some jellybeans and sprinkles to decorate.Decorating was Princess Z’s best part as she got to mess around.

There were 2 more attractions that we didn’t go for.One was the bungee jumping as Princess Z was too small for it and the boat ride across Madinat Jumeirah with Santa ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป which Princess Z didn’t wanted to go for ๐Ÿ˜”.Later when we where done with everything that Princess Z wanted to do we strolled around the market area, looking at what the shops/stalls had to offer.Stopping as usual at the Lindt chocolate ๐Ÿซ stall and buying sweet treats for ourselves ๐Ÿ˜‹.

The day was spend well making new memories again this year.Princess Z enjoyed every moment here and can’t get enough of it.She will be visiting it again soon๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ˜

NOTE:The Christmas Market at Madinat Jumeirah is on till the 27th of December.
Do visit it before it ends!!!

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree

As being the Christmas week Princess Z and I decided to do something fun and as Christmas is near ๐ŸŽ„we planned to do a Christmas tree that’s made with love and affection and is a great decoration.

Here’s how it’s done:

You will need:

Green/White colored square paper

A pair of Scissors

Glitter,Stickers for decorations

1.Take a square green/white colored paper and turn it into a triangle

2.Cut horizontal lines as instructed (the lines can be thick or thin as desired).

Any shade of green/white paper will work for the Christmas tree to look more realistic
Fold it into a triangle and cut strips

3.Open it up and start folding it strip by strip(connecting them in the middle)

Start folding each of the strips connecting them in the center

4.Once your Christmas Tree is formed decorate as desired using shapes, glitters or stickers

The final result should look like this!
Decorate it as desired

Note:Cut out stars, circles or any other decor and let your kids stick and decorate the tree adding there special touch to it. This is a fun activity to bring the Christmas spirit alive ๐ŸŽ„.

Christmas celebration at Wafi Mall

Christmas celebration at Wafi Mall

After missing Christmas last year this year our trip to the Christmas celebration ๐ŸŽ„at Wafi mall was worth it.As princess Z is more sensible and grown up she totally enjoyed her time and was fascinated to see the beautiful Christmas display (The Wafi Express ๐Ÿš‚)around Santa’s Grotto. Here are a few pictures

The Express Train.Love the details!!

When we arrived, Santa ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿปwas on his break and was about to return in 15mins so we waited and were the first in line.At around exact 7:30 he arrived on his sleigh waving visitors on his way to his Grotto.Princess Z moving towards the ticket counter and on her way to meet him was totally excited ย ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿปand couldn’t wait to get her hands on the special soft toy Santa had for her. When she saw him she was a bit nervous and scared but once he handed her the soft toy she got comfortable and I was really happy that this time she was brave enough to take a picture with Santa alone ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป.

Santa has arrived on his sleigh

All this was for 60 Dhs (Meet & Greet Santa +Picture+Vouchers+Soft toy+Raffle coupon)

After collecting our picture we went to the arts and crafts corner where Princess Z enjoyed her time making a Christmas card with the given materials.(This craft zone is absolutely Free for kids and adults) ๐Ÿ˜

When we were done with all the activities and were heading back home and I was wondering how much hard work and difficult it would have been to put the beautiful decoration and each and every detail of it to its perfection ๐Ÿ˜

The prettiest Christmas Decoration.

Notes: The Christmas celebration is on in Wafi mall till the 24th December.Keeping in mind that Santa is on his break from 1:00-1:30PM & 7:00-7:30PM.
P.S-Best time to visit him is in the evening as the queue is way to long in the morning time and also Its better to carry exact amount to avoid delays.

Not only this Wafi has a lot more to offer this Christmas with the Light and Sound show happening till the 31st of Dec 2016

Show timings: 6:30PM,8:00PM & 9:30M this is also something worth watching if your planning to visit.
