THE CATS IN PRINCESS Z’S LIFE  🐱

Cats have always been a part of Princess Z’s life.Being fond of cats since her toddlerhood. She loves everything related to them.Whether its cat cushions, plush toys, hair clips etc.We never had one nor planned of having any as mom aka Princess Z’s grandma (Nani) was afraid of them and didn’t want the ‘scratching the furniture’ thing🙈in the house.During our shifting process Princess Z tried her best to convince Nani to get her a kitten on her birthday (as she knew our house is getting bigger and we have space for them)but it didn’t work out 😞.The day we shifted to our new home just before her birthday Princess Z was lucky enough to make some new cats friends in the neighborhood.Nani was happy as well as we didn’t needed to get one now)😉.

Here’s what she named them:
Softy-Loves moaning outside our door,a solid eater, the first one to get attached and is the oldest and the closest of them all.’Her best friend’,that’s what Princess Z likes to call her 😊).

Whitey- A little reserved,plays a little,likes to roam around our house,loves food

Silly Cat-A kitten actually who loves to play in our garden with her mouse toy and bubbles

Babu-Never comes in but loves to be fed.

Softy 2- Pays us a visit, once in a blue moon

and many more but they have not been named yet)
😂😂

It was a scary thought at first.(tendency to bite or claw.) but as time passed by they created a special bond. It’s was not just Princess Z that started to have the love and affection in her eyes, but the cats seem to have the same adoration. In no time the cats and kitten became attached to Princess Z.Taking time out to feed, play, pet and caress them has became a part of her daily life.Nothing makes her more happy then seeing those cats waiting for her outside at the doorstep when she comes back from school. Not only this weekends, specially Friday is a ‘Cat’ day for us,spending hours playing with them in our garden.

Playing with cats is all about treating them well.During the night time when Princess Z is lying by my side I tend to teach her all about the do’s and don’ts of Cats. When talking I try to make her understand the teaching on how to play with them,by staying calm and quiet while playing: no yelling, screaming, running, or jumping.Telling her the facts about them. Its important to help her understand that the cat is not a toy and she’s a living companion who has just as many feelings as us.

Ear Ache in Children

Ear Ache in Children

Lately Princess Z has been going through an ear infection (or earache) after she had a cold raging for more than two or three days.Due to the ear ache Princess Z has been having a yellowish discharge coming out from her ear plus suffering a bit of hearing loss.(She cant hear me from a distance). After talking to my pediatrician about it,She has been put on an antibiotic course for a week.Hopefully,it will vanish within time.According to a research, It’s common in children from the age of 3 and it occurs when a virus or bacteria causes the area behind the eardrum to become inflamed. Most middle ear infections occur during the winter and early spring. Often, middle ear infections go away without any medication. However, if pain persists or if your child has fever, you should seek medical treatment. After experiencing it myself for the first time i thought of sharing a few ways to spot an earache

Sighs to spot an ear infection (earache)-

1.Ear pain (mild to severe). Babies often pull or tug at their ears.

2.Fever.

3.Drainage from the ear that is thick and yellow or bloody. (This is what Princess Z has been going through)

4.Loss of appetite, vomiting, and grumpy behavior.

5.Trouble sleeping (crying or not wanting to sleep)

There might not be any home cure for this but there are a few things that can ease the pain along the way:

1.Use Ear drops

2.Rest

3.Apply warm cloths on the ear

4.Use Pain Relievers (such as Advil)

5.Use Oil Drops (putting a few warmed drops of olive oil in the ear is safe and could be moderately effective)

Many ear infections clear up on their own in about a week or two, with symptoms starting to get better after a few days. Be sure to check with your child’s pediatrician if your child has an ear pain, (under 2 years of age (and definitely if the earache is accompanied by a fever).

Listed below are a few ways to lower your child’s risk of getting an ear infection:

1.Wash your hands and your child’s hands frequently.

2.Keep unclean items out of your toddler or baby’s mouth.

3.Avoid smoky environments

The Doctor should be visited immediately if any sigh of earache is spotted to stay away from further complications.

I hope this helps!

KADINSKY CIRCLES

This week me and Princess Z chose an activity that’s all about colors and different big and small circles.

Before I go on,let me go a bit into the history and introduce you to the artist who was behind it all.

Wassily Kadinsky, was a Russian born French Expressionist. His worked looked more like the images below but one of his most recognizable pieces of artwork is his color study known as Squares with Concentric Circles/Rings (Farbstudie Quadrate) (Below Last). This is where the activity is differed from.

For this activity you will need:

Colored Paper

A Pair of Scissors

Glue

Instructions:

This activity can be done by either painting, sticking, drawing ,stamping different sizes of circles or any other medium your kids have interest in.Once decided then is all about having fun and playing around with big and small colored circles and layering them one on the other and creating your Kadinsky masterpiece.

img_1912
It’s all about using as many colors as possible

Princess Z chose to draw, cut and stick circles from different colored paper on to another colored square.Making a colored masterpiece of her own.

Princess Z Kadinsky Circles Masterpiece turned out to be like this

This activity helps increase physical-development from gross and motor skills to free-writing skills.as well as encourages kids to do large pieces of work with large movements without making a mess around.

The best thing about this activity is that it’s not at all messy and can be done anywhere either at school/home.In the end its all about having fun and spending time together.

P.S-This is one of Princess Z’s favourite activity.
